Raina Walker
Provisional Psychologist
Raina (pronounced Renna) is a provisional psychologist currently completing a combined degree of a Masters and PhD. Her PhD research focuses on Perinatal Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (pOCD) in new and expecting parents which showcases her dedication to parental mental health. Raina emphasises a person-centered approach and aims to provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental and connected environment for her clients.
Raina loves working with individuals of all ages and has knowledge of mental health disorders across the lifespan, with a particular interest in new and expecting mothers and fathers. Her therapeutic methods are deeply rooted in a number of evidence-based treatments, primarily drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has previously worked with clients through diverse experiences including depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), adjustment difficulties, Autism and ADHD.
Raina’s life experiences bring a global perspective and a profound appreciation for cultural diversity to her approach. Born in Australia and having spent four transformative years overseas, she is intimately familiar with the nuances of adapting to new environments and the richness of diverse cultural experiences.
Outside of the clinic, Raina spends time with her beloved dog Bailey, reading, writing, watching TV- shows and playing games (particularly Animal Crossing).
