Peter Casdorff
Psychologist
Peter is a general psychologist, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is currently completing his Master of Clinical Psychology. He is the Director of a registered NDIS provider, supporting young individuals on the autism spectrum to build skills, confidence, and meaningful community connections.
Peter has extensive experience working with individuals across the autism spectrum, as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation challenges. His clinical background spans children, adolescents, and adults, with a strong emphasis on inclusive, neuro-affirming, and client-centred practice.
His therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. Drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, psychodynamic principles, and somatic techniques, Peter supports clients in developing self-understanding, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. He also has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, particularly in ADHD, with a focus on clear, actionable reporting.
Peter has held roles across support work, community mentoring, and psychological therapy, which have shaped his ability to engage flexibly and authentically with people from diverse backgrounds. As part of his leadership in the disability sector, he mentors staff, fosters strong family and community partnerships, and advocates for holistic support tailored to each individual’s goals.
As an Animal-Assisted Therapist, Peter works alongside his therapy pug, Kevin, who brings warmth, playfulness, calm, and a sense of safety to the therapy space. Together, they create a supportive environment that enhances connection, especially for clients who may struggle with traditional talk-based approaches.
Peter remains actively attuned to the evolving interests of children and adolescents, including popular games and platforms such as Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite. This awareness helps him engage meaningfully with younger clients, using shared interests as therapeutic bridges to build rapport and foster self-expression.
Peter is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming space for all people, including LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and culturally diverse communities. He brings international experience and cultural sensitivity, having spent over a year living and working in France.
In his spare time, Peter enjoys spending time in nature, playing and watching soccer, travelling the world, and relaxing with friends over board games.
