Lynette Dickinson
Provisional Psychologist
I am passionate about supporting people to find peace in their lives. My intention is to create a safe environment where you or your child can feel heard, understood, and respected. I will always bring a focus on developing an inclusive, positive, and trusting therapeutic alliance with you.
I use a client centred, collaborative approach to guide you toward your goals, bringing with me key skills of listening, empathy, and compassion. I aim to make sessions a positive experience so you or your child look forward to upcoming appointments – fun, creative and relaxing.
I have over ten years’ experience as a meditation and yoga therapist and have worked with people experiencing physical and mental crisis, across the lifespan and with diverse communities.
I use mindfulness-based stress reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and relaxation tools to help you reduce anxiety and depression and encourage you to identify and harness your own strengths towards wellness.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, across a range of environments, including classrooms, individual sessions, and small groups. I love working with children, adolescents, and adults across the neurodiversity spectrum, informed by professional and lived experience.
In addition, I have considerable personal and professional experience in and commitment to supporting people experiencing chronic and acute physical illness and trauma. I will be there with you to help navigate the uncertainties, emotions and anxieties that arise from a significant diagnosis or ongoing illness.
