About Jas

Jas is a provisional psychologist who is on the last leg of university studies. She has grown up around animals and will always have them in her life. Jas enjoys reading books, sharing ideas, and creating art. She also loves Harry Potter and all things horses.

Therapy with Jas

Jas welcomes clients into an understanding and compassionate space where they can explore themselves, including their strengths, and their challenges. She works to affirm clients of all backgrounds, identities (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders), and neurotypes. With an emphasis on client-lead therapy, Jas works to collaborate with her clients throughout the therapeutic process.

Jas understands that each client has different needs. With this in mind, she works with clients to create a tailored therapy plan, offering both short- or long-term support. She strives to help each client feel heard and understood while creating a comforting environment with the animals. Jas offers counselling, animal-assisted interactions, cognitive assessments, and combined therapy approaches tailored to each client.

Animal-assisted interactions

Jas’ therapy dog in training Aethusa aka “Toozi” joins her in sessions in the clinic and outdoors. Together they offer a calm and comforting space for clients to explore and challenge themselves. From cuddling on the couch or playing with the ball or navigating obstacles outside, there are many ways to interact with Toozi to support clients in therapy.
