Niamh O’Brien
Occupational Therapist
Niamh is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA). Niamh can provide services to clients who have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan through Medicare and to those who are NDIS plan managed or self-managed. Niamh began working as an Occupational Therapist after completing her Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University in 2022.
Niamh has predominantly worked in Mental Health, within both community and in-patient settings. She has a keen interest in sensory modulation and emotional regulation, and has experience working across the lifespan from Children to Older Adults.
Niamh is passionate about supporting people to regain their independence and build meaningful connections with their everyday activities. Her approach is person-centred, focusing on individual strengths and goals to tailor interventions that promote engagement and well-being. She employs evidence based practices and collaborates closely with clients, families and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
Niamh recently adopted a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy named Finn, and hopes to complete Canine Assisted Interactions (CAI) training together in the near future.
